I'm looking for suggestions for my first pair of nursing shoes. I'm getting ready to buy my first official pair and am thinking they are a pretty important purchase for a newbie, eh?
Also any other "gotta have" tips would be appreciated.

I can't live without my dorky little pocket protector to keep my pens, lights, and scissors within easy reach. You're right, your feet are really important. I found it hard to know which ones are good shoes just by trying them on, but if my feet hurt when I get home from work, it's time to buy a new pair. Also, wear compression stockings if you can; they come in a variety of pressures from knee high to full panty and make a huge difference in how you feel after a 12 hour shift.
Thanks for the tips.. I would have never thought of the compression stockings but can see how they would make a difference.
Dankso's are the best in my opinion. Have someone fit you, though, because they fit differently than any other shoe. If you tried to buy what you *thought* would be the right size, you would end up with blisters.
Oh, you should try Lasser's in alt. They have all those and they fit you, etc.!!!

Ashley, I think I heard of those shoes somewhere else as well. I'll have to check them out.
Yes, Caressa, I thought of trying there first.... I'll have to get into town this week before I start MONDAY!! :)
