Birthdays

Today was my first official day on the floor, working as a Labor Nurse. Was it by design that the first birth I attended as a RN was on my son, Isaac's 10th birthday? It made it even more memorable.

Isaac is my "little Mark." He not only looks like a mini-mark, but he acts like him - TO THE T. He is gentle and kind. Would never be mean to anyone. He is sensitive. Artistic. Creative. Musical. He loves Garfield comics, reading books and doing karate. He's a great brother and one of the best sons a mother could ask for.

Happy Birthday, Isaac. Just imagine what the next ten years could bring!!

Orientation Update:
So far, not surprisingly, there are things that impressed me and other things that didn't. Overall, I feel welcome and the unit is quite busy, lending to many learning opportunities. My preceptor has a kind, gentle manner about her...willing to answer my many questions. I got to spend some time in the NICU today, as well.
